On Saturday, September 5, 2020 I was honored to speak at Student For Life’s Black Preborn Lives Matter prayer vigil/rally held in Baltimore, Maryland. Students for Life (SFL) Student’s for Life started this campaign as a response for to the Black Lives Matter movement (this is in way associated). SFL partnered with the Fredrick Douglass Foundation as well as members of the Baltimore community. The event took place right outside of a huge Planned Parenthood in the middle of the city.
Some of members of SFL woke up early that Saturday morning and painted the street in front of the Planned Parenthood with big yellow letters that said “Black Preborn Lives Matter”. This made an incredibly bold statement and showed a lot of bravery. A couple of hours later the rest of us showed up. We sang songs and prayed over the building, the mothers going in, and even the abortion workers. Over the years I have come to the realization that we can not do things in our own strength. To make monumental change on something as big as an entire industry created to do murder lives, we need to draw on God’s strength.
It was my first time speaking at an event like this. Before I wrote my speech I prayed that God would be speak through me because I understood how importance of a movement like this. Now is the time we have national attention on this terrible topic. People are speaking out more and more and on large platforms. I am grateful God has given me a voice and a platform to speak up on such horror.
Statistically almost 80% of Planned Parenthoods are located in minority neighborhoods. They are strategically placed there and THAT is systematic racism. The creator of Planned Parenthood was Margaret Sanger, a known eugenics. In a letter to Dr. C.J. Gamble Margaret Sanger said “We do not want the word to get out that we want to exterminate the Negro population…” Black women are 5x more like to have an abortion than white women. In New York more black babies are aborted than born. These statistics hurt my heart and boiled my blood. It should make everyone upset. Abortion is murder. We should all be working to end it. We all have a voice and can and should speak out. Let’s continue to pray end abortion and vote for the defunding of Planned Parenthood.
